Book 2: Chapter 13
"So, where are we going?" Martina asked, her voice steady despite the fear simmering beneath the surface.
"You'll see," Ares replied, his tone cryptic.
The car started with a low hum, and they pulled away from the curb. The silence in the car was heavy, filled with unspoken tension. Martina felt a knot of anxiety tighten in her stomach but pushed it down. She had to stay strong.
As they drove through the city, Martina stared out the window, her mind racing. She needed to find a way out of this, to regain control. But for now, she had to play along, to understand what Ares wanted from her.
Minutes passed in silence. Martina observed the familiar streets turning into more upscale, unfamiliar neighborhoods. She wondered where they were heading and what Ares's endgame was.
"Do you enjoy the view?" Ares finally broke the silence, his voice calm yet taunting.
