Ares's smile faded, and his expression turned cold. "Then I'll make sure your life becomes a living hell. You don't want to cross me, Martina."
Martina clenched her fists, feeling trapped. She didn't want to help Ares, but she also knew she couldn't afford to defy him. She needed to find a way to turn this situation to her advantage. If she wasn't careful, she would get caught up in more trouble than she can handle.
"Fine," she said through gritted teeth. "I'll do it. But I want guarantees. Once I get you this ledger, you leave me alone for good. We end whatever this is between us."
