Ares’s cheek stung, and he touched it with a mixture of surprise and anger. His eyes blazed as he stared at her. "You dare hit me?"
Martina's chest heaved with a mix of fury and something else she didn't want to name. "You had no right," she spat, her voice trembling with emotion. "You can't just do whatever you want."
Before she could react, Ares grabbed both of her wrists in one swift movement and pinned them above her head, his body pressing her down on the couch. Martina thrashed, yelling at him. "Get off me, Ares! Let me go!"
Ares leaned in close, his breath hot against her ear. "Never hit me again, Martina. Ever," he growled. "You can deceive yourself all you want, but I can tell you wanted that kiss."
Martina glared at him, her anger boiling over. "You had no right to kiss me that way!"
