Book 2: Chapter 22

Martina awoke to the soft light of dawn filtering through the curtains, casting a gentle glow across her room. She stretched, feeling the stiffness in her muscles from the previous night's tension. As she rolled over, a knock on her door broke the morning silence.

"Martina, are you awake?" Camila called from the other side. She opened the door slightly and stared inside to be certain.

Martina frowned, glancing at the clock. It was barely seven in the morning. She was hoping to get more sleep. "Well, I am awake now." She said sleep still evident in her voice. 

Since her suspension from work, Camila has been spending more time in her apartment. She wasn't against it, but she knew Camila was doing it to keep an eye on her and make sure she didn't end up publishing another ridiculous article that could tarnish her image further. 

Martina was grateful for Camila's concern but she could very well handle the situation herself.
