Book 2: Chapter 57
Juana burst out laughing, the sound echoing through the opulent living room. She laughed so hard that tears formed at the corners of her eyes. "Oh, this is priceless!" she exclaimed, wiping her eyes and glancing at Dominic, who was taking in Sophie's words with an increasingly angry look.
Dominic's face darkened as he stood up, his eyes locking onto Sophie's. "Never make that kind of offer again, unless you have a death wish," he said, his voice low and menacing.
Sophie felt a shiver run down her spine but kept her composure. She knew she had overstepped, she didn't even know what she was thinking making such demands from him, she barely knew him. She was only desperate, she could feel his intense gaze on her like a piercing knife but she tried to remain unfazed.
Dominic turned to Juana, his expression softening slightly. "Juana, take care of her. Make sure she understands her tasks and what’s at stake."
