Alejandro who had dashed out of the room, came back in with two men to get rid of Luca's body.
Enzo stared at Gabriella and he could still see in her eyes that she was still in a state of shock, he decided to carry her rather than have her walk out of there on her own.
He scooped her up gently, her head resting against his chest as they exited the grim scene. The chill of the dungeon seemed to permeate every corner, but Enzo’s warmth provided a stark contrast.
As they moved through the dimly lit corridors, Gabriella felt the rhythmic beating of Enzo’s heart against her ear. It was surprisingly calming, a steady beat in the chaos of her thoughts. She closed her eyes, trying to block out the images that haunted her — the blood, the gunshot, Luca’s lifeless body. She held on to Enzo's shirt, her hands trembling.
Enzo spoke softly as they walked, his voice a soothing murmur in the quiet. "You did nothing wrong, Gabriella. You were defending yourself.
