Book 1: Chapter 33
Gabriella's eyes widened as she too noticed the blood for the first time, her face turning even paler. "I... I didn't realize," she stammered, looking down at her leg, where a small but deep cut was bleeding steadily from the side.
"Oh, dear, let's take care of that immediately," Maria said with urgency, her tone calm but quick. She helped Gabriella to sit down gently on the edge of the bathtub, then hurried to the medicine cabinet to grab the first aid kit.
Maria returned swiftly and knelt beside Gabriella, opening the kit. She found antiseptic wipes and a bandage, then gently cleaned the wound, despite Gabriella's flinches. "I'm sorry if it hurts, Miss, but we need to clean it properly to avoid infection," Maria explained as she worked.
"A glass is inside your feet, I will need to pull it out," Maria said noticing a small shard embedded in the wound. Gabriella's face tensed up with worry, but she nodded, bracing herself for the pain.
