Chapter 109. Awakening Wolverines 

Before long, Lara arrives at Carter’s place…

“That was fast,” Carter comments with his usual nonchalance, while Lara scoffs and enters the house.

“Thanks for ruining my party,” she curses under her breath.

“I heard you.”

“Whatever,” she rolls her eyes.

Carter raises his gaze, glancing at her shortly before focusing on his laptop again. “You are welcome, darling.”

“So how did you manage to convince them?” Lara inquires, “Because it’s still kind of surprising how they agreed so quickly.”

“It wasn’t easy, I must agree, but they understand the need for everyone to work together.”

“Mm, I see.” Lara nods slowly, her lips folded in self-righteous scrutiny. “You must be feeling like a superhuman, huh?”

“I am a superhuman, Lara.”

“Indeed.”

“Anyways, I’ve set up a meeting with them, but we need to be prepared for whatever they bring to the table,” Carter shifts uncomfortably on his chair.
