Chapter 114. Words of Wisdom
Lara’s new reality freezes her to the bones. For the very first time, Chris yells at her. And even swears. She must have hurt him deeply. She stands, staring at him with disbelief, wondering if he meant that.
“I said, get the fuck out of my room.” Tears threaten to fall, but she holds them in.
“Fine...” She pauses. “I’ll leave,” she struggles to maintain her composure. Then veers around slowly, each stride away from Chris killing her spirit. Closing the door behind her, she hears loud noises and shouts of frustration. She did that to him, no one else.
“I’m sorry,” she whispers at the door. Her heart aches for Chris. She is tired of all the secrets and lies, but she has to hide them, to keep them in for his sake, even though it is killing her, and destroying her family.
Lying on her bed, weak, angry, and frustrated, she wallows in pain. Just when things are beginning to work out for her, her beautiful romance with Chris comes crashing down. Why can’t she have
