Chapter 16. Feral Dreams

Rose Croft's ball has done what it needs to do.

“The announcement of Lara Croft's engagement to Michael Watson has set the business world abuzz with anticipation, as investors clamor to capitalize on the promise of a powerhouse partnership.”

“The stocks are still on the rise this morning, fueled by whispers of a potential merger between Croft and Watson Technology, the mega company of their time located in the very bustling heart of the financial district of Grosthe. Energy is corporeal. The crofts are not dead yet!” The voice of a presenter echoes from the wide television hanging on the wall, the two orchestrators of this effect tarrying beside.

“I'm impressed, I must say,” Freeman muses, tipping his glass to Rose, whose shoulders are high with pride and accomplishment.

“Thank you,” she smiles slyly, sipping on her wine. They stare at each other for a while, the pressure that had been on them further dissipating as they bask in the joy of thei
