Chapter 22. Summertime Sadness
Rose frowns at the counter. There are three cards lying on the table, and none of them impress her.
“I don't like them. The fonts are too tacky, and your color choices are a crime. I want more.” She sweeps them away from before her, tapping her manicured fingers on the reflective marble.
The designer holds back an exasperated sigh. He was told before taking the job that she was going to be difficult. But hell! Did he remain adamant?
The truth remains that it came as an offer he cannot refuse. It promised a shiny star on his resume, the golden ticket to reach the wealthiest and most elite clients of Grosthe City. He’ll be damned if he let this opportunity slip past his fingers or mess it up.
So, instead of yelling out profanities at the obnoxious and obstinate woman before him, he smiles.
“Could you tell me what it is you want specifically?” His voice is calm and composed as he throws open his scrapbook, ensuring that his smile remains intact.
