Chapter 19. Who Let the Dogs out?

“Grosthe wakes to another scandal! The front-line pages are in a chaotic frenzy. Croft Incorporation has been exposed yet again, and this one is hard to look past. Concrete evidence alleges that Richard Croft sponsored the creation of the nuclear bomb called ‘Dare Devil,’ the sole reason for the civil unrest in the Middle East at the moment…” A male television presenter’s voice booms through the speakers of every TV and radio station in Grosthe City at first light.

The sound of a resounding slap echoes off the walls of the late Richard Croft’s study, leaving behind a screaming silence.

“You said you had no more secrets!” Rose riots, looking like a mad dog on the edge of murdering someone. Her fingerprints burn red on the hollow cheeks of Freeman, who stands with his head bowed in shame.

“Forgive me, Rose,” He stutters guiltily. “I figured you were better off not knowing. I didn't think it would ever come out to light. All the evidence was burnt and destroyed.
