Chapter 41. Wolf of Wall Street

Rose paces the length of the boardroom, her eyes ablaze with fury as she struggles to contain the torrent of emotions threatening to consume her.

She stares out the roof-to-floor glass window that forms the wall of Richard's skyscraper, taking in the view of Grosthe City as a yellow sun rises on the horizon.

She heaves, taking a mental note to remain determined and unwavering despite the hopeless situation. Clad in a navy blue suit with a matching strait-cut skirt, she has opted to remove her heels and replace them with a black slip-on.

Today is the day to make it or break it. Her fashion of clothing will not matter in the face of this melancholy.

Although her hair has been curled recently, she ties a peach-colored chiffon scarf around it and hides her teary eyes behind a sunshade.

She slowly veers around and faces the conference room. The chairs have been properly arranged on each side of the long central table, and Carter stands somewhere
