Chapter 63. Reject
The warm feeling of the sun rays kissing her skin delight her more than it normally should have as she pulls out of the glass door of the tall building, heading toward the large parking lot with a gleeful stride. For the first time in a long time she can affirm that she is truly happy and a can attest to the feeling of self worth that grows inside her.
A smile spreads on her face as a gusts of wind passes by, scattering her curly hair which has been previously pinned. She halts in front of a line of cars and heaves a sigh of relief, shutting her eyes for a while to appreciate this moment. But then she is interrupted by a thought. How does she get home?
Her eyes peel open and she kisses her teeth. If only her circumstances would let her celebrate this little win. She pulls out her button phone and goes to her call long. On seeing Chris’ number, she sighs, hating the fact that she is getting dependent on him a lot. What explanation would she give now about her job?
