Chapter 64. Rouge
As soon as she enters the kitchen, she spreads her arms and pulls her head backwards like a prisoner who has just been set free after fifty years.
“Yes!” she exclaims, with joy bubbling in her heart for more reasons than she can name. The thought of her sorrows, her father’s death and exile seem to have gone into hiding somewhere in her subconscious for the very first time in a long time and it is all thanks to Chris.
“I’ve never seen you so happy,” Chris booms from behind her and she swivels around, gifting him a tight embrace, then pulling away to get some water from the gray colored refrigerator nearby. The smile on her face seems to not want to disappear as she pulls out a bottled water from the freezer and offers to Chris. He hesitates.
“Come on, be a gentleman and accept what this lady offers you.”
He scoffs. “A bottle of water?”
“Yes, not just any water. It was drawn from the purest spring called Love Spring.”
