Walmart slowly pulls out her cigar from her mouth, her eyes narrowing.
“As I said, people call me Walmart for a reason.” She blurts out. Lara edges closer, widening her eyes as she begins to perceive a striking resemblance between this woman and Coco.
“I know right? You see it too, huh?” She adds as if she can read Lara’s mind and thoughts entirely. Lara swallows hard, taking a mental note to not think about anything. For the first time, Cathy’s words begin to make sense to her. Perhaps Cathy has always been telling the truth. Maybe, just maybe, there are real fortune tellers and mind readers.
“Walmart…” Lara’s voice is mild and cold, laced with a tincture of caution.
“Huh?”
“Who the hell are you?”
A low-octave chuckle escapes Walmart. She pokes her cigar back into her mouth and readjusts her posture. “You don’t want to know, believe me. But for starters, I am Coco’s mother. Mama Coco…”
“How many names do you have?”
“As many as you can
