Chapter 69. Blast
Sitting in a small, private waiting room the antiseptic scent perculiar to hospitals seep into her nostrils as she stares blankly at the round glass clock on a blue wall in front of her. The time is twelve o’clock in the afternoon and after a thirty minutes drive, she finally arrives Chris’ work place. She has been waiting for about forty-five minutes after she was lead by a receptionist to this chamber where she remains alone, but this moment of loneliness has given her time to calm her emotions and reflect on the torture that awaits her at work.
The sound of footsteps approaching pulls her out of her inert state especially when Chris walks in, Clad in a blue scrub with a white lab coat overlay. On registering her presents, he halts and smiles.
“Oh, Lara, forgive my lateness. Something else came up.”
