Rachel’s POV
“R… Rachel?” The familiar voice faltered, threaded with uncertainty and hope.
I lifted my head slowly. There, standing at the edge of the clearing, was Raven—eyes wide, face etched with shock, disbelief, and dare I say it, longing. He took a tentative step forward, and Mason growled sharply, sliding an arm across my shoulders in a protective half‐embrace.
Raven snarled low under his breath. “Stay on your side, Lunar Pack!” Axel’s command rang out, firm and uncompromising.
I glanced back at Raven’s Beta—someone I’d never met—who held Raven by the scruff of his wolf‐leather cuff. My wolf stirred inside me, desperate to surge forward. She missed her mate. But outwardly, I remained calm, concealing my heart’s turmoil.
“Rachel, is that really you?” Raven called, hope quivering in his voice.
I fixed him with a steady look. Evan slipped to my other side, mirroring Mason’s stance. I noticed Raven’s posture stiffen at Evan’s arrival.
