Chapter 149. Outcasts of the Pack

Rachel’s POV

A month later.

Things have been going wonderfully here in the Crimson Fang. I’ve officially been accepted as a warrior, and ever since my strength increased through training, I’ve stepped up to meet every challenge. I’m still honing my skills, but both Allison and I know that once I reach my full potential, we’ll be an unstoppable team. The Alpha, Sebastian, and his mate, Luna Sophia, treat me as one of their own, and their Beta, Axel, has shown me nothing but kindness—he’s like the older brother I never had. I truly love it here.

My thoughts are abruptly interrupted when I’m flattened to the ground by a sudden tackle. In my daydream, I’d completely forgotten that I was in the middle of sparring practice. “Pay attention, Rachel!” Axel yells over my shoulder. His voice jolts me back into the present.

I grunt, spin my opponent’s momentum against him, and flip us both so I end up straddling his chest. With my forearm pressed firmly against his jugul
