Chapter 222. Hitchhiking

Selena did not know the way to go back to the main part of town, but she did not want to trouble the old lady. She did not want to feel like a burden. So she decided that she was going to find a way, even though she had no idea how she was going to do that.

As she walked away from the house, her heart that had gotten lighter started to get heavier with the distance that she put between her and the old lady’s place. She did not stop; she just kept going until she reached an empty asphalt road.

She sat at the edge and waited, praying that she was going to see a car, then maybe she could hitchhike back to the main part of the town. She ended up waiting for about an hour before she even saw one.
