Chapter 32. Bad Things Happen

“Wake up, what are you doing?” A voice startled Selena as she had her head bent over while crying. She looked up and saw who it was…Beta Leon.

“I’m sorry,” She sobbed the words out as she stood on her feet, her heart feeling like lava had been poured on it. “I just…” her breath hitched and she felt more tears escape her eyes.

Leon sighed. “Look, you will be fine, okay? Bad things happen, but we can learn from them rather than letting them destroy us.”

“What if I don’t want to learn from them? What if I’m too tired to learn from them?” Selena asked, her voice breaking as she stared at the man.

He stared back at her, and then muttered something under his breath before replying to her, “Come here.” He pulled her in for a hug, something that he didn’t usually do…especially to omegas.

Selena felt tentative about the hug but she eventually gave in, hugging the man and crying on his shoulder. It felt good, it felt freeing. It felt like it was what she had need
