Chapter 54. Rage

Alpha Maddox was on his feet, the phone still glued to his ear. But he was not… he was not himself. The voice of his mother had shoved him into a state of mind that made him feel like his spirit had been pushed right out of his body.

“Maddox, are you there?” she spoke again, sending chills all over his body.

How could this be? How? He knew his mom was dead. She had died with his father in a car accident years ago. So how was he hearing her voice?

“Is this some kind of prank?” he finally spoke. “Is this some sick and twisted joke?” He was disgusted at the thought of it. But at the same time, he wanted it to be true so badly. He wanted his mom to be alive.
