Chapter 61. Birthday Boy

The sound of the music from outside could be heard from inside the bathroom, but it was a bit muffled. Selena was still standing there, alone, with only the doctor. She kept staring at him, trying so hard to wrap her head around what she thought she had heard. But maybe, just maybe, it was all in her head. It had to be.

“Sorry…?” She tried to get him to repeat what he had said.

Elijah sighed, taking another step closer. He was tipsy, so most of his inhibitions were down. “I want us to try again. I don’t want to lose you, Selena.” He waited with bated breath to hear what she had to say.

The Omega chuckled without humor. “You can’t be serious, can you? You kicked me out of your house. You rejected me, Elijah. You can’t just…” She scoffed, running her hand through her hair. “You can’t just come back and say you want me back as if you can change the past.”
