Chapter 68. For Mom

Selena sat there, quiet and trapped in her own mind, trying to wrap her head around all of this. Her emotions were all over the place, but what stood out among them was the anger. She was so angry. Not at her mom, but at the councilman. Once again, the fact that they were Omegas had worked against them.

So tell me, why should Selena save a pack with a system set up like this? If this whole prophecy thing wasn’t a load of horse sh*t and was actually real, why would she even save the people in this town? Especially knowing that if the roles were reversed, and the people at the top of the social ladder had to save those at the bottom, they would never do it.

She closed her eyes for a few seconds, tears falling freely. Then, she opened them and wiped her face with the back of her hand before standing up. She walked over to her mom, sat next to her and hugged her tightly.
