Chapter 81. Late to Class
Selena’s heart started to pound in her chest when her eyes landed on the man—the very same one who had denied being her father. Pain gripped her chest, and she kept looking at him as they approached each other. It seemed like he was telling people to get to their classes, and he had even told a random girl in the hallway to do the same.
But when his eyes locked onto hers and they closed the distance between each other, he didn’t say a word to her. He just stared until he walked right past her.
Selena kept walking but glanced back to see whether he was looking back, too. And he was. As soon as their eyes connected, both of them looked away.
This was weird; it was like he was actively pretending she didn’t exist. She could still vividly remember her first day here when he had caught her in the hallway and scolded her loudly. But now… things were just different.
