Stormy POV

“This is a Seer’s house?” I asked.

“What did you expect?” Alex raised his brow.

I shrugged. “A hole in the forest.”

“Don’t say that in front of her. Come on.” He took my hand and led me to the front door.

It swung open before the doorbell was rung.

“Come in,” she smiled.

Alex squeezed my hand as we went into the seemingly normal home. It smelled like rosemary and pepper. I noticed a cat asleep by the window and another one napping on top of the TV. A ginger cat strolled into the living room as we settled on the couch.

She had a lot of cats.

“She’s got an unusual aura. Have you spoken to Lettie? You always got to her first?” Rhea asked, folding her hands on her knee.

Alex settled back and sighed. “I don’t always go to her first.”

Rhea shrugged. “One would think she was after my job.”

“Your job’s secure, Rhea. I just like to have my options.”

Rhea frowned and nodded. “I see.”
