My mate and I had a thing for cottages, so it wasn’t a surprise that our next home was nestled in the woods.
“Hey, are you done packing?” Kade asked.
I looked up from the toiletries basket in the bathroom. I smiled. He leaned on the doorframe and panted. His chest rose and fell at a steady pace. He’d returned from his first run since the accident.
It had been a long couple of days. He was grumpy, worried and impatient, but yesterday he went for a human run and today he went for a wolf run.
“I packed for both of us,” I said.
“What? I packed last night,” he replied.
I placed a hand on my hip. “Kade, you packed one shirt, no shoes and two shorts.”
“We won’t be there that long, Princess.”
“Things happen where you need a change of clothes! Like, spontaneously shifting.”
