Book 4: Why Is Zander Astros Here?

Hazel’s POV 

I waited for Stavros all evening after receiving an update from Riley. He wasn’t a warrior and the only one who accepted my call. I was happy that Stavros had emerged victorious yet remained unscathed. With Aunt Cassie at the packhouse, I waited to spend time with Stavros. I had made his favorite dinner, but where was he? Shouldn’t he be here by now?

The doorbell rang, and my heart skipped a beat. I opened the door wide, but instead of Stavros, I gasped at the sight of Alpha Zander Astros on my doorstep. “You? Why are you here?” I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had completely forgotten about him. Anger bubbled in my head as I glared at him, blocking his entry into my house. 

“I’m here for you, Hazel. How could you disappear on us? Your family’s so worried about you.” I scoffed, not buying his excuse. He was here for some other motive.
