Olive’s POV

“I have a feeling Scarlett has been pretending to be okay. She eats, dresses nicely, goes to work, hangs out with some friends I don’t know, goes for walks, and comes back. It’s always the same, but there’s been something different in the past few days. We both worked out the issues we had, talked about them, and that should have been enough.

When we laid out the things that bother us about each other, we understood that we can try to avoid those. I’ve been feeling jealous since I’ve known Scarlett, but enough of that now. I really had nothing to envy. She’s my best friend, the person who’s always been there for me. It’s unfair for me to have that attitude. Sometimes, I thought she was losing the strength to deal with things. However, she proved me wrong yesterday when she left the room and went somewhere. She was telling me she had changed, that she wouldn’t fall apart, and that she’d give it her all to move forward.
