Chapter 20. Pregnant
Moses, leaving the concubines' residence, which was actually a small palace, a reproduction of the larger palace, was cozy with eight rooms with baths and a huge hall where women could gather for their conversations, and the rooms allowed them to have their privacy.
He entered the palace and went straight to Eliza's chamber. He knocked and entered without waiting for answers, finding her sitting in an armchair. As soon as she saw him, she closed her face, stood up, and approached him, staring at him angrily. For a moment, Moses was afraid that she had discovered the farce he had set up with the beast.
"How dare you abandon your sleeping wife after the wonderful night we spent together?" She said, beeping and hugging him.
Moses, even with the strong urge to push her away from him, sighed with relief.
"Have you had your breakfast?"
"Of course. And I love the roses. Thank you for your sensitivity."
Moses smiled
