Chapter 15

“Hey, so nice to see you, girl,” Peggy cooed as she saw her niece.

Veronica smiled and hugged her. “You are welcome, Aunt Peggy, and this is my husband, Adam,” she said, pointing at Adam, who stood by her side as they ushered Peggy into their house.

Peggy grinned. “What a handsome dude you have got for yourself, Veronica!” She winked at her.

Adam blushed and muttered his thanks to her. The three of them moved in and talked all night after dinner. A few hours later, Peggy yawned and said she was going to bed. They bade her goodnight and watched as she made her way to the house.

Veronica had her hands crossed on her lap, wondering what to do with them. Even though they had packed her stuff into Adam’s bedroom as soon as she had heard of her aunt’s visit, she couldn’t sleep in the same bedroom with him all through those days.
