Chapter 46
Carolina astonished, spun around, wanting to escape. The butler’s voice suddenly echoed, "Are you leaving, miss? Miss Mirian has been waiting for quite some time."
Mirian heard the commotion, set aside her magazine, and looked toward Carolina, dressed in a maid’s uniform.
Carolina turned her back so that Mirian couldn’t recognize her.
Carolina carried a tray of water, visibly sweating, gritting her teeth. She closed her eyes, turned, and brought the tray to the tea table, placing a glass of lemonade.
"Oh, why do I feel like I’ve seen you before?" Mirian tilted her head, looking at Carolina, who was doing her best to avoid being seen.
Just as Carolina was about to turn and leave, Mirian exclaimed in astonishment, "Carolina!"
Carolina froze, and she quickened her steps. Mirian chased after her.
Mirian whispered, "Carolina, is it really you?"
Unable to continue avoiding her, Carolina raised her head
