Vincent Family Residence
Mirian stood on the balcony on the second floor, gazing intently toward the large gate.
Why hadn’t Frederick returned yet? During this time, he had stopped visiting that apartment complex. He had come back home every day. Tonight, she had prepared a romantic evening with wine and roses to share with him, but it was getting late, and he hadn’t returned.
Someone lightly tapped her shoulder. Startled, Mirian turned around to find Mrs. Trovica. "Mother."
"Mirian, I’d like to talk to you for a moment," Mrs. Trovica said, her lips curving into a gentle smile. Her expression, however, remained serious.
"Yes, of course. Let’s go inside," Mirian responded, with a hint of uncertainty in her heart. She and her mother-in-law didn’t interact much on regular days. So, she wondered why Mrs. Trovica wanted to talk to her now.
The two of them sat down on the sofa.
