Chapter 68

Maya shoved more popcorn into her mouth, chuckling along with the characters on the TV screen. Gabrielle plopped down on the couch beside her, watching her quietly,

"Don't you have somewhere to be?" Gab asked, peering at her through narrowed eyes, "It's past six." 

Maya's head swiveled in her direction, mouth filled with the buttery snack, "What?" 

A few of the crumbs went flying out of her mouth making Gab grimace in disgust before throwing her a pillow. 

"Ouch!" She yelled when the fluffy cushion hit her smack in the nose. "What was that for?" She rubbed the sore spot with the heel of her palm.

Gab lifted a shoulder carelessly, "Maybe next time you should fucking close your mouth when chewing." She scoffed and Gab snickered, "But seriously, shouldn't you be dressing up or something."

Maya sighed, returning her gaze to the screen. She'd been watching reruns of Grey's Anatomy and stuffing her face with loads of popcorn. Alex hadn't
