Sydney's POV

I looked around the room assigned to me in the staff quarters. It wasn’t as luxurious as the one in the tent, but I would manage. At least I wouldn’t impose on Killian all the time. 

His mood swings, his obsession, and his temper tantrums confused me. I couldn’t understand what he wanted from me. Heck! I couldn’t even know if he liked me. One minute, he took me out on a date; the other, he showered hateful threats on me. What could I make of it? 

“Are you comfortable, Ms. Sydney?” asked Mr. Lewis, the housekeeping in-charge. 

“Yes, thank you.” Although I felt far from comfortable, I was complaining. 

“We haven’t been able to sanitize the place after the last occupant left. I hope you understand.”
