Book 4: What Do You Want From Me?
Killian's POV
Her direct attack made me fumble. Did she realize I was her dad’s worst enemy alive? Did she recognize me? How could she be oblivious to her father’s enemies? Even a teenager was well aware of such threats these days.
“I am your future, Princess. Surely you know that by now.” I watched her roll her eyes. “As for your parents, everyone knows about them. The celebrity magazines, newspapers, and gossip columns were abuzz with the news. Then your father sued a leading daily for defamation, and everything died down overnight.”
She released a staggering sigh and nodded, accepting my explanation. I released a breath of relief at my narrow escape. It taught me to control such slips in the future. I had to be more careful about what I said. I couldn’t let Sydney know my motive. It would wreck my plan of revenge. No, I couldn’t afford that when the game had just begun, and I was already in control.
