Iris smiled weakly, her heart sinking now. Maybe Maddox wasn’t coming over today. “Take care, Mrs. Jones. I shall miss you.”
“When sir arrives, you won’t get the time to miss me.” She chuckled, making Iris blush.
“I don’t think he’s coming over today. It’s well past lunchtime.” She sighed, glancing at the wall clock.
Mrs. Jones smiled at her. “Did you have your lunch?”
She shook her head. It had completely escaped her mind.
“Let’s grab something from the cafeteria. My treat!” Mrs. Jones led her into the elevator, paying no heed to her protests.
“Mrs. Jones, there you are! Where’s our treat?” yelled Nicholas Garrett the moment they stepped into the cafeteria.
“Yes, please join us,” said Terence Greene, the housekeeping
