Chapter 35. Imaginary
Logan circled the cube table, taking in the holograms that he found not so much beautiful as distracting. It was too bright, flashy, and attention-grabbing. Paramour Island was shrouded in a fog to protect it from human view. But there was no guarantee that distractions such as light or sound could distract human consciousness while sailing.
“Is that woman trying to tell the human world about Paramour? Why, what’s her motive?” The puzzle pieces Logan had needed to be more. He rubbed the back of his neck. The problem was Logan’s energy was dropping. Logan had to get back quickly, or his body would collapse, and his soul would be lost.
“Hang in there,” Logan muttered, jerking his heavy eyes away.
Once again, Logan focused on observing the replicas. The city center was marked by the mayor’s building, which was depicted as a magnificent castle. Two kings ruled Polis Sparta, but there was only one in the hologram.
