Chapter 43. Change
Twenty years ago.
Seventeen-year-old Caroline Jennifer absorbed her father’s courage. Unafraid to venture deep into the jungle, do conservation, and do everything her professor and nature researcher father did.
Jenn grew up curious about nature, history, and civilization. Her father told her that these three things are related to each other.
“What does that mean, Dad?” asked Jenn.
“Nature is the eternal witness of history, and history gives birth to civilization. Then civilization affects nature in gratitude or betrayal,” Roger explained.
“Well… why both? Does that mean civilization is good or evil?”
Jenn waited for an answer to the point of getting off Roger’s lap. He was quick to hold her as the waves were strong, and this was their third day of sailing, and the last day was expected.
