Chapter 45. Together

“You’re looking for me, Miss?”

Lim’s bodyguard appeared in the doorway. His stature was fresh and fitter than before they parted ways. Even so, the bandage wrapped around Lim’s upper arm could not make his lie any further about his true condition.

“Bodyguard Lim!” Azeeva broke into a small run. Halting her steps at a distance of thirty centimeters, she was wary of touching Bodyguard Lim’s wound. All Azeeva did was scan the man she considered a brother figure from the top of his head to the toe of his black shoes.

“Is your wound getting better? What’s the percentage of your current condition?”

“The doctor returned last night and managed to get the antidote.”

“Thank goodness you’re okay, Lim,” Mr. Logan added.

“Mr. Logan, it’s good to see you again.” Lim bowed slightly.
