Caroline's POV

A maid relayed the news that Philip and Veronica came to HellGuard with the claim that they wanted to personally invite us for the annual celebration. I was rather stupefied with what they might be planning. For them to come to the pack just to invite us was suspicious, and I found wrong in everything, which further infuriated me.

The man was planning to do something, and those two would never do anything with a clear intention. I knew them too well to be blinded by the fake act.

They were just plain annoying, and I found myself hating them even more. Walking through the hallway, I wondered where they were but just before I could take another step, I heard a groan and slowly walked towards it. The moment I pushed the door open, I found someone in the room and Bruce was on the bed, and he was groaning in pain.

I walked towards him while a physician tended to him. I placed a hand on his shoulder and he finally turned to recognize my presence
