Chapter 84. A Cold Embrace

Jackson's POV

After what happened, Rose didn't show her face almost throughout the day. I knew she must be skeptical about why she was still alive and why I hadn't gotten her arrested. I might've ruined her plans, but I couldn't ruin mine. I had other things to bother myself with, and knowing her place in this matter was the first part of the puzzle that was solved.

Evening came and we went for the celebration. Things were awkward between us as none of us talked throughout our way to the place. She looked really uncomfortable, but I was able to pull a poker face.

She kept glancing at me every so often. I had no wish to go with her to a social gathering, but I couldn't denounce her title as my Luna all too soon. That would create suspicions and questions, and it would ruin my plans.

At least I have clear knowledge that she was sent not only to cause diversity and chaos, but to also assassinate me. They said keep your enemies close
