Chapter 128. Someone Has to Bend

Sylvester’s POV

The days following this encounter was a strain. I could not look at her without recalling her scent, her perfect body form, her response and I knew if something was not done soon, I was going to go insane. I had been on heat a few times but with Millicent, I always found it impossible to control myself.

“Sylvester,” she had said the next day. “We need to talk!”

“About what?” I asked, raising a brow as though I did not care for that.

“About last night!” she said. “There’s no use acting as though nothing happened.”

“Did something happen?” I asked, wanting to know what her response would be.

“We came close to mating!” she said.

“You mean, you wanted us to mate?” I asked, hoping she would say something that would make me know she was ready to accept me fully.

“I did not… want us to mate, that is!” she snapped.

“Oh, but you did. Are you still living in denial?” I asked, thinking Millicent was really incorrigible
