Chapter 22
While the children were eating breakfast, Elena picked up her cell phone and dialed Damian.
The call connected after a few seconds.
“What’s wrong?” Damian’s cold voice sounded on the other end.
Elena gripped her cell phone tightly. “Olivia asked you to come to a family event tomorrow at school. She wants you and me to be there.”
Damian chuckled, his tone full of mockery. “And you think I’m going to waste my time on that?”
Elena clenched her fists, trying to contain her anger. “She’s your daughter, Damian. At least once, can’t you come for her?”
“I’m not willing to waste my time on such trivialities,” Damian retorted sarcastically. “If the girl cries, let her. It’s none of my business.”
Elena clenched her jaw. “You really don’t have a heart.”
“And you still wish I had one?” Damian chuckled. “Don’t call me again on such insignificant matters.”
Then the phone disconnected.
