Nathan gripped the edge of the window, his gaze blank. In his heart, there was a strange feeling—he knew Elena couldn’t have escaped. He was certain that she had been kidnapped.
Meanwhile, elsewhere, a large, dark, cold house. Not just any house, but the old residence of the Lancaster family that had not been lived in for a long time. On the second floor, a luxurious room that now looked grim. Yes, this house had been empty for years, abandoned.
Elena lay weakly on the bed, her wedding dress still on, her hair matted, her cheeks pale.
Damian sat on a chair near the bed. His gaze was full of obsession. His eyes never left the face of the woman who was once his wife.
“Elena... even in your sleep you’re still as beautiful as ever,” Damian whispered softly.
Damian touched Elena’s cheek with his fingertips. Then he leaned closer, kissing her temple lightly. “We’ll start all over again, baby. I know you still love me.”
