Richard’s POV
The beautiful smile of the little sight of sunlight peeking out of the cloudy sky looked like hope to me.
It was finally Christmas morning. I could feel it in the atmosphere—the scent of fresh Christmas air.
I prayed silently in my mind for God to make the day very easy to work with, for everyone to enjoy their day, and for us to live normally like we are not finding a killer on the run.
I jumped out of bed in the Christmas spirit—no, I meant I pretended to be in the Christmas spirit.
The Christmas party wasn’t starting until evening, when everyone had spent time with their families by day. It was strictly adults only.
