Anita’s POV

“Hey, baby, I did not see you when I finished at the party. Is everything okay?” I heard Damien ask as he caught a view of me in the kitchen; he just came back from the bachelor’s party, and I had been home for up to an hour.

I had a plan, but my plan had to have no suspicion. To make my plan work, I had to make Damien as comfortable as he would never be in the next ten years. If I want my plan to actually work… wait, no ifs—it will definitely work.

“Oh, I got so tired. I just had to leave with the girls at the party,” I responded as I tried to hide every hint of pain I had ruminated on ever since I had overheard his discussion with Jason.

“Anita is playing that role perfectly.”

No wonder everything was a rush!
