Chapter 120
Madison did her best to absorb the shock of what Detective Conan said.
“Are you coming?” Nathan asked Madison.
“I-I want to see for myself,” Madison said in reply to Nathan.
“They said the woman in the river matches Lila’s description.” Detective Conan said to Madison.
“I want to see her,” Madison said with an eyes holding back a great quantity of tears.
“Let’s go then,” Detective Conan said to Madison and Nathan. He went outside to get his car ready for them to go.
“Are you really sure you want to do this?” Nathan asked Madison again in the absence of Detective Conan.
“I’m sure, Nathan.” Madison replied to him.
“I’m coming too,” Vera said to Madison and Nathan. “I want to see if it’s—it’s truly her.” Vera’s voice cracked a little.
“Me too!” Jonathan said.
“Who’s going to stay with the kids?” Nathan asked.
“I will,” Sia said from the balcony. “I’ll take good care of them, y’all can go.”
