Chapter 133

Vera wondered what Nathan thought would take away the sadness she was feeling. She thought about it as she followed him to the lobby.

“Why are we going outside?” Vera asked Nathan.

“Not outside, but we are going to meet someone,” Nathan answered her.

“And who is that someone you think can brighten up my…” Vera froze when they got to the center of the lobby. Her heart palpitated faster and louder, out of excitement.

“Lila?” A drop of tears dripped from Vera’s eyes. “Are you seeing who I’m seeing?” Lila asked Nathan.

She wanted to be sure that she too wasn’t losing it. But that was the reason Nathan brought her there, to meet Lila.
