“Why? What’s going on?” Nathan asked but it seemed like his question was not delivered.

“She hung up the phone already,” Nathan noticed.

“What’s going on?” Jeromy asked out of concern.

“It’s nothing serious, just office related.” Nathan had to lie to Jeromy because of Lila. He didn’t want her to get worried or feel anxious.

“How about Maddie?” Lila asked Nathan.

“She’s fine, she just called to inform me that there is a matter of urgency that needs my presence,” Nathan lied again, still for Lila’s best interest.

“She would not be seeing me today?” Lila asked, a hint of disappointment in her voice.

“I’m sorry, but yes.” Nathan said to Lila. He did not even know what was happening over there, he just didn’t want to make any promises.

“And Vera?” Lila asked.

“I’ll definitely reach out to her,” Nathan promised Lila.

“Thank you, I’ll appreciate that a lot.”

Nathan had to be on his way then, he didn’t want to waste any more
